In the event of an accident: The insurance covers any damage to the rented vehicle without the renter having to pay an excess. The excess is €0, meaning there are no additional costs.
Damage to the vehicle: If the car is affected by any external factors (e.g., a bump, scratch, etc.), the insurance covers the repair, so the renter doesn’t bear any expenses.
Personal injury: The insurance also covers passengers in the vehicle, providing essential personal safety protection.
Additional coverage: The insurance includes extra protection, such as coverage for vehicle theft, as well as damage to the windshield, tires, and windows.
Fire and water damage: The policy also covers damage caused by fire or water.
Third-party liability: If a third party is responsible for the damage, the insurance covers the costs on behalf of the renter.
Important note:
The insurance is valid throughout the rental period, but it includes exclusions, such as intentional damage or improper use (e.g., driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs).
According to Vanrell’s policy, you can rent a car if:
You are at least 21 years old, and
You have held a valid driver’s license for at least 2 years.
So if:
You got your license at 19, and
You’re now over 21
you meet all the requirements and are eligible to rent a car from Vanrell.
For drivers aged 21 to 24, Vanrell charges a “young driver” fee of €5 per day, up to a maximum of €100 per month.
With the Smart Lock Plus and Comfort Plus packages, a credit card is not required for car rental.
This ensures you’ll be allowed to pay on-site.
If you don’t specify this in advance, the system will automatically charge the rental fee to the card provided at the time of booking – usually about one week before pickup.
According to Vanrell’s policy, only individuals listed in the rental agreement are allowed to drive the car.
Additional details:
A maximum of 2 additional drivers can be registered.
In the Comfort Plus / Smart Lock Plus packages, the second driver is free of charge.
In other cases, the additional driver fee ranges from €3 to €25 per day, depending on the vehicle category.
