Payment

  • Full amount at booking: you receive an extra 3% discount.
  • Partial payment: pay 20% at the time of booking, and settle the remainder by card at pick-up.
Do I need a credit card or deposit to rent a car?

No – neither a credit card nor a deposit is required to rent a car.

What insurance is included with the rental car, and what exactly does it cover?

You can rent a car with full insurance and zero excess.

What is included?

  • Insurance covering all damage with zero excess
  • Also covers tyres, windscreen and mirrors
What is the €1,000 guarantee and what does it cover?

The €1,000 guarantee provides extra security with every booking.

When is it valid?

What does it cover?

  • If your flight is delayed and you cannot collect the car (e.g. taxi and accommodation costs)
  • Fines or charges that were not caused by you
  • Unjustified extra charges applied by the rental company

Can I rent a car for just 1 or 2 days?

Yes, of course – you can rent a car for as little as 1–2 days.

During peak season, however, it is worth booking in advance to get the best price and ensure availability.

How far in advance should I book for the best prices?

Based on our experience, booking 1–3 months before your trip gives the best results.

If you try to book too early (6–12 months ahead), the period is often not yet priced, so rates may actually be higher.

Is the exact car model guaranteed?

No. Only the category is guaranteed (e.g. Economy / Compact); the specific model shown is for reference only.

Where can I pick up and drop off the car?

What happens if my flight is delayed?

The car can be collected and returned around the clock.

What should you do?

  • If you expect to be delayed by more than 1 hour, make sure to notify them via WhatsApp or email.

Out-of-hours pick-up surcharge (23:00–06:59)

  • Alicante (ALC): €40 surcharge
  • Palma de Mallorca (PMI): €50 surcharge

If the delay means you cannot collect the car at all

If the delay prevents you from collecting the car, our €1,000 guarantee covers the taxi fare to your accommodation and the return journey to the rental office the following morning.

What is the minimum age to rent a car from Top Gear Mobility?

Minimum age is 21, with at least 1 year of driving licence history.
