In high season, however, it is worth booking in advance – this gives you a better chance of getting a good price, and there will definitely be a car available.
In our experience, it is best to book 1–3 months before your trip.
If you try to book too early (6–12 months in advance), that period is often not priced yet, so the prices may be higher.
The exact car model is not guaranteed – but the category is. Except when it is specifically marked as guaranteed.
When booking, you always choose a car category (for example “Economy manual” or “Compact automatic”), not a specific brand or model. The model shown on the rental company's website is only an example – the actual car may be any similar vehicle within that category.
